Lately, KD has had like little support coming from his labels, and I believe the tours (if they can even happen) are almost self financed, and they're probably hoping to break even on merch etc. The band knows where they do good at and probably hit those areas.

Actually, I notice their tours get smaller and smaller. They don't even go into the traditional style of studio recording situation any more. They just send their ideas and work back and forth between Kings studio in Texas and Andy's studio in Denmark. Andy produces the end product and it gets released. No more long stays in the studio. The label won't support it and the band can't afford it if they want to be able to live off the music. Which is getting VERY VERY hard for them.

Pretty sad when that is the way, what I view as a big classic band, has to conduct biz to exist. That sounds like what "I" would have to do, not a heavyweight of sorts like KD. Guess times are changin.

i love KD and Mercyful fate, but i must say they aren't great businessmen. 100's of bands have done dvd's, yet he is only now talking about doing a "retro" DVD for MF and KD...he should have done a live dvd for puppet master and not a live CD. also, the website isn't frequently updated, and they don't really sell merchandise....he could earn a lot of $$ by putting out live recordings/videos etc from the years...instead, the bootleggers make the money....its sad.

It's on the record company to go for a DVD, and he sure can't afford it out of his pockets. He has no support from the company. Sorta like his hands are tied in many ways... Like me or you setting up a well produced DVD... A bit out of our financial league I'd figure.
