Anyone else get this yet? It's a lot bigger than Vice City, but I don't think the main character will be as memorable as Tommy Vercetti.
They got some SnoopDogg-wannabe doing the voice of the main character, and there's tons more harsh language in it.
There's also tons more areas to explore, though, which is great.
Unfortunately it has one major issue that I am not at all happy about - the "SpaceChannel5" type mini-games where you have to push the buttons at the right tim to make the guy dance. It wouldn't be so bad if those games weren't tied into the main mission, meaning you HAVE to go through them to proceed to the next storyline mission.
There's a similar one where you have to work the hydraulics in a lowrider to the beat in order to advance, but that's f'n retarded and should only be a side game.
Most of the old VC cars are in it - the Voodoo, Hotring racer, PCJ-600, Sanchez, and some others, but there's 3 new motorcycles, as well as BMX bikes. The main character (CJ) also has stats you can work on and build up like in an RPG - Stamina, Muscle, Fat (too much makes you a slob, too little robs your muscles), lung capacity (YES! You can SWIM this time!), and whatnot.
Unfortunately, when you first start the game, it doesn't tell you where to go or what to do like VC did. You hafta run around until something pops up and tells you that you're close to where you need to go.
Anyhoo, I've been playing for a couple of days, but haven't progressed too far, because it IS so huge. Even with all the right Codebreaker cheats (health, ammo, etc etc) you still gotta actually go through the missions to get to the end, and the dancing crap slowed me down - made me waste 3 gamedays on that
There's also more radio stations, but no Metal channel :madd: There's like 4 Rap/House/Boo'sheet channels, an Alternative station (that plays Ozzy's Hellraiser ), a Classic Rock station that plays Strutter and Horse With No Name (), and the typical Public Radio thing with funny dialog and funny commercials and such. There's also a Country station.
There shoulda been a Metal station. VC had one, and it only had a few weak songs.
Anyhoo, it's easy to see what demographic this edition is aimed for.
It could be better in some parts, but I'm still playing it - at least till Halo 2 comes out
