Man.

I am not usually a fan of white guitars, Toejam, but your Carvin looks good enough to EAT!
Yummers.

Doesn't it? I've always like white guitars, but I was never that crazy about gold hardware or maple boards or single-cutaway bodies. I saw that on Carvin's site in the In-Stock guitars for sale in April of 2002 and something about it kept calling out to me and I had to keep looking at it mesmerized. I figured what the hell, I've got 10 days to try it out and see if I like it or I could send it back. Now I totally love single-cut bodies, as you can tell by the first pic, and I really dig maple boards. I had another Carvin 6-string and a 12-string that I've since parted with that had ebony boards, but something about this maple board feels amazing and I don't think I could ever part with this one. If you do the Carvin 10-day trial and don't like the product, you have to pay your own shipping to ship the item back, correct?

Re: Guitar pic test

I believe so. If there's something wrong with it, they'll pay for it to be shipped back.

Oh, so CARVIN pays to get their faulty goods back. Good, doesn't cost me a dime.

Yeah, if it gets damaged in shipping or there's a wrong option you did/didn't order on it or some other technical difficulty. They're good about things like that, great customer service!

Sounds good. Wonder if it would cost them much if I were to do 10-day test drives on multiple pieces of gear that I don't intend on keeping, just to get a feel of what Carvin's stuff is like... I'd feel a little guilty taking advantage of their policy like that...

You should get a DC145... it's their H/S/H model, neck-thru, 24 frets, choice of four different bridges (of course you'll want the Original Floyd), special wiring options if you desire.

I dunno if I'm crazy about their 25" "medium" scale, but I guess that could be one of the things I'd be trying out in my 10-day trial period.

Actually, about a year and a half ago, I wanted a 12-string acoustic and was looking at the Carvin Cobalt C980-12 but remembered the double shipping price applied to Canadian orders... blast... And I'm the one expected to pay duties and stuff, I take it... blast again... I'm buying Canadian from now on. LOL I love the 25" scale. Actually, I go back and forth between 24.75", 25" and 25.5" on my guitars and really don't seem to have much preference. I had a DC400 for awhile that I got off ebay, and then I traded that to Jgcable for his DC120 (12-string electric), then I sold that on ebay because I figured I wasn't going to play it enough to justify owning it. Great guitars and definitely worth checking out. I can't wait to order my 7-string!

Actually, I was just looking at my catalog... Canadians do have to pay double the shipping, but it says Carvin pays all import fees and taxes. So $40 for shipping is a great deal for you.

Hmm, I must have missed the part about import fees and taxes... that is SAH-WEET! The shipping is quite reasonable still! Thanks for the info. I would never have realized that without ordering something first.
