Actually rabbits are good housepets. An important thing to remember is that they like to chew on things, especially wires. It is pretty easy to rabbit-proof a home; keeping wires out of reach and spraying them with something like Bitter Apple spray. I bought some cheap plastic automotive wire conduit to run power cords through. Since outlets tend to be low. And it is important to litter train them early which is really easy to do.
