Tesla-Bust a nut......in an interview, they state it was the album they have always wanted to make sonically.......it may have been good sonically ,but, musically ....it sucked.-Lou

Last 2albums of Dream Theater are bid disappointment for me as well.
I love older stuff of DT and I don't like the last 2.
I still listne to them but not much.

Dream Theater's Train of Though and Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence are both great albums, in my opinion.

As much as I've given it a chance, Eric Johnson's Venus Isle is the CD I enjoyed frisbeeing aross my lagoon. Everytime I listened to it I envisioned this male ballet dancer in a tutu prancing across cliffs overlooking the ocean with streamers in his hand, clicking his toes together.

After my reaction to listening to this CD, which is equivalent to wiping spiders that are crawling all over your body, I walked down to my dock and winged this CD into the sunset, called Columbia House and told them I didn't get their CD, and I didn't want it.

Don't get me wrong, Eric's mechanical technique is tremendous........it's just his choice of note selection and succession, which sounds a little toooooooo sweet for me.

The Beatles - it's a toss up between Let It Be and the White album. The thing is that both albums have a couple good tunes but they have some real dogs too.

Queensryche - whatever that last one was called - it sucked eggs.

It's funny you mention Racer X. I've got my media player at work set to shuffle play through a few things: Racer X, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Yngwie, The Hellecasters, Derek Trucks, and Vai. Everytime Racer X comes on I find myself compelled to just skip to the next song. Those Racer X tunes just don't hold up very well. Some amazing guitar playing for sure but they are really not interesting tunes - particularly compared to these other musicians.
