Yeah, especially after Encyclopaedia Drip-tannica's dissertation on Jefferson. I think I'll just print Sully's post, laminate it, and then carry it in my wallet.

sorry I don't read metal sludge very often. Had no idea you were being "cute".

as for me being vitriolic. I've always been like that, You just notice it more because I disagree with you guys on today's hot topics. Once the election/politics mumbo jumbo dies down you won't notice it so much.

cheers dude, its just a message forum, about freakin guitars. I've got better things to worry about. Have to go to the hospital here ina few minutes, they don't think gramps is goign to make it through the night. We'll see I guess.

I think we should have another civil war, but this time, it should be the North vs. South vs. East vs. West. All parties will be issued regulation whiffle ball bats and the battle must end at 6:30 P.M. for happy hour. The End

                          • Re: Went out to protest yesterday

I understand there have to be defining guidelines. There's no way to exist without them. I'm by no means an anarchist. If it would work, I'd be for it, but if Anarchy was the system, who would pave the roads (you'd think we'd live in anarachy now with the state of the roads :P). I mean federal funding would be out the window, and granted I don't agree with Mr. Bush's plans with funding, at least SOMEONE is getting it, rather than in an anarchy state, there wouldn't be any funding for anything out there at all.

Anarchy is not a thought process, or even a form of sociecty that could work. Period, End of sentence.

I should literally define my form of freedom. We've *taken* steps to make things safer for Americans, and people abroad. However, it affects our way of life. In reality, we are no safer now, than we were before. It wouldn't matter who would be in office, (Bush, Kerry, Me, Moses, Allah) there would be terror still. The reason we've seen MORE attacks than before, is because we've went after them (weather or not I agree with the means, I'm hoping the ends justify it).

That said, we cannot really protect against the real form of terrorism. Think about some **** head kid going to the mall with a bomb in a bag, kicking it under a bench and leaving. NO ONE would know if the person shut up and left.

How do you prevent it? Check bags, packages, put cameras in, security check points all through the mall, you get the idea. To me, that's a comprimise in freedom. The terror wins when we alter our way of life for them.

Would I change my way of life? I'd prefer not to, I rather enjoy my life the way it is.

On the topic of having different opinions, hell I'm a very vocal democrat, and there's quite a few vocal republicans, but we all have one thing in common at the very least, that we are into music, and if we're players, we're into that too, and if we're here, we're into Jacksons. You get the idea.

It would appear that I'm in the minority with my opinions in politics, but it doesn't mean I'd stop coming here. If there was ever a JCF gathering in my area, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

I think it's awesome we've made it this far without a fight, and if we can have our discussions like this, evidently, we can continue to talk about it. When people start to bash, we can't. It don't matter who you bash, but if you do, it's gone.

On the civil war, only one side can have the bats, the other side has to use something like hot dogs or something. the other sides keep fighting until their happy hour in their time zone. We could make it a global event, and have everyone in. The northern hemisphere vs. the lower.

Tell you what, you guys can have the bats and we'll just take slingshots, and we start out at a range of 50 yards!Fair enough, if we can't get you all in the time it takes to cover 50 yards, we're screwed. On the other hand, if you can't make the 50 yards through slingshot fire, YOU'RE screwed! How more equitable can you be? Sincerely, I'm with you. I'm on the GOP side this time around, mainly due to the war footing we're on. In the 90s I was with the Democrats because they promised healthcare, which my boss wouldn't do on his own, but they were stopped by the GOP. I'm conservative on defense but somewhat liberal on social issues like healthcare. I think if you get a welfare check you should be doing some kind of work for it though, if you're able. That way you'd have a safety net with a motive to escape the system for a better job than the system's barebones safety net.As long as we each demonize the other side, no matter who is in power, the cycle of the outs doing their utmost to thwart the ins in their every aim will never end. As for the idea that more parties would alleviate this, I think in fact it would make things much worse, and we'd have fistfights and knife fights in Congress like they do in Taiwan. We have quite enough trouble with 2 major parties!Let's join in something we can agree on: No Blood For Cocoa! France Out of Ivory Coast!

                                RE. the civil war...

I think each side should observe each other side's happy hour. That would eliminate at least 4 hours of daily combat. Subtract another few hours for sleep, and there would only be maybe three or four hours per day to have at it. Take into consideration the current state of traffic and by the time everybody made it to the battle grounds, it would be happy hour again!
