Lerx, I think you nailed it for me...DeYoung drives me up the wall. The only Styx tunes that I like are the Tommy Shaw ones. I knew I hated Sweet's voice unfairly. Damn Dennis DeYoung.

Yes, "The Way" is a Stryper song. One of the few written by Oz Fox. That solo is not one of my favorites, but still killer.

For some of the most scorching harmony guitar, check out "Reach Out". "More Than A Man" is another very cool Stryper tune.

I agree that "Soldiers Under Command" is an awesome tune. Very metal, no "pop" to it

My first rock concert was the Styper "In God we Trust" tour.
I pretty much owe my love of Jackson guitars to them. Well, and Phil Collen.

I thought they were one of the BEST bands and I like Slayer too, it's all a gimmick with them. Older Metallica is my favorite... I can't stand Faster Pussycat though... Back then most of the people I hung with had a BIG problem with what we called "poser bands" like Faster and Poison... you know the really sissy looking bands... Never liked their music either. That was the only thing i never liked about Stryper, all that Make up..But musically and vocally I think they were better than 99.99% of the bands that were poppin up left and right back then, but after IGWT they just sucked... not sure what happened but, wow absolutely terrible!

I think the whole 'Bumble-Bee' look kinda turned most people off.
But, as mentioned above, they were a great band... musically & vocally.
I still listen to them fairly often.

Those chics in Stryper were kinda cute!

I still have the Y&B Attack on blue vinyl, Soldiers on vinyl, 12" single for Together As One, 12" single for Reason For The Season. I kinda got bored of them after that with the whole religious thing, but they were a pretty cool band.

I think Stryper was a great band too. Sweet and Fox are/were great guitarist. I always liked there playing. They were underrated no doubt about it, but one band that comes to mind is Tesla. They had some pretty big hits, but I don't think they ever got the recognition they deserve. Skeoch and Hannon just kill on the guitar. They are definitely one of the most solid straight ahead rock bands ever, period!

I agree with txcharvel in saying that Lillian Axe is probably one of the most underrated bands of the 80's.

Did anyone happen to catch Stevie Blaze in some Slayer Zed movie???

Faster Pussycat wasn't a poser band, They were in that second wave of bands out of la,

Slaughter, Warrant, Tuff, Bands like that were posers

Faster Pussycat Released their first album in like the 1st week of Jan. 86, way before all the Poser bands
