Seriously, make sure your Input Level is up on your Windows Mixer. Double-click the Speaker icon on the taskbar to open the Sound Control properties, select Options/Advanced, then select the Recording button, and click Ok. You should get a mixer window that shows all your recording inputs (Line In, Mic, etc). Make sure your Mic In level is up and not Muted.

Another thing to check is in 98 open control panel, then open Multimedia and make sure your record device is correct. In XP open control panel, then open "Sounds and Audio Devices" and your recorder should be on the "Audio Tab". If there is no option available, go back to Control Panel and select System, then click the Hardware Tab and select Device Manager and make sure there are no errors or yellow "!" or "?" by any device.

I already checked both of those things guys. I was at a local music store yesterday, and asked one of the guys there. He said it might be because I'm using a mike without a line transformer.Comment

What kind of Mic are you using?
What OS?
What kind of sound card?
Any other software installed for recording, except the default WinX tools?
