Re: Do you park at your neighbor\'s house?

I only suggest the talking to them first as a formality.
Just a CYA suggestion. Then go hog wild.
When the cops come out you can tell them you already tried the "reasonable" way. (right).

Re: Do you park at your neighbor\'s house?

Depends, if you just get the law in it, it is sometimes better to just do it and let the situation look like the law was driving by and got on their asses, as opposed to them feeling that you sicked the coppers on them, and decide to hand it back to you in some way.

Being upfront and honest doesn't always seem to work with dumbass scumbags... They don't seem to understand that method as it just isn't in their logic. It will however give them a target to remember and vent themselves upon after the cops finally give them the smackdown.

Only for that reason, I'd think anonymous may be better if you are getting the coppers in on it.

Yeah.. that makes sense.
When I said tell "them" you already tried the reasonable way I meant the cops. Not the neighbors! Nothing worse than the neighbors knowing you called the coppers out on them.
Too many times have I called the SPs on idiot neighbors only to have the SPs say "well.. did you try talking to them first?"
I lie and say "of course".

screwdriver through the front grill into the radiator-then call the cops and tell them their car is leaking anti-freeze all over the place, and you are afraid that it is poisonous to small animals-hell, call the SPCA or animal control, or fish and game commission.

roofing nails wedged under two of the tires when it's parked for the night. they go in and let the air leak out after a couple miles. who carries two spares? car is gone for a day or two at least.

The dude sounds like a backyard used lemon dealer ...call the cops and also use the pepper spray very generously!!!

or a good ol simple flat tire helps too...

Re: Do you park at your neighbor\'s house?

I have the same frustration.. neighbor with more cars than drivers and parks in front of my house. If you drive down any street and look in an open garage, people have them filled with all the crap that wouldn't fit in the house. The city is supposed to ticket any vehicle that remains in one spot more than 3 days, but they don't have time to enforce it. Trailers not attached to a vehicle are supposed to be towed immediately, but <big surprise> nothing happens to those either.
That roofing nail / two tire scenario is starting to sound like a solution...

I was thinking of chaining it up to my 4Runner and dragging it back to their house

Don't do that. This was several years ago. When I was stationed in Ca. My apartment complex had numbered spaces but this jerk kept parking in our space. I asked and asked politely to park in his space or a visitor space. He said he didn't see why I couldn't park in a visitor space. It was my fukking spot. After weeks of this and going to the useless super. I rapped a chain around the axle of his car hooked it to my jeep and dragged the car out of my spot and parked it beside a fire hydrant. The Mountain View Police came to my door asking about his car I played stupid of course but a neighbor ratted me out. I had to pay the fine for parking next to a fire hydrant. I plead that it wasn't my car but the Judge said I was the one who parked the car there. He then scolded me and said they could have charged me theft, reckless endangerment since I was not using a proper tow truck, and a few other small charges. I paid the ticket. Because of that incident I applied for base housing.

I had an issue with my next door neighbor. I put up those white triangle type stones so he could get in that spot on our grass, the first time he pulled in over them was the last!

Take a dump on a paper towel. Then shove the poop under there door handles.... lol.

I would just park my truck in front of there house.... In front of a picture window or really close to there driveway so when they pull out they cant see. See if that works............................

What you need to do is just convince the only that one troublesome neighbor that your one crazy ass mofo and your on the edge. DO this, and they will move the car and will make a special effort NOT to irratate you. I am sure you can get good advice here on how to convey that message as there are some crazy ass mofos here. Just make sure nobody else is convinced of this or the cops will be on YOUR doorstep.

The nasty neighbor is parking on the street, right? If so, doesn't he have as much right to park on "your side" as you do? Annoying yes, but short of working it out with them I don't think there is much legally you can do.

Do you have any neighborhood covenances or city ordenacnces the may be violating?

Re: Do you park at your neighbor\'s house?

You know I went through this same ordeal in my last house, and it's amazing how such a seemingly small thing can piss you off day after day and turn into a huge problem.

My neighbor did the same thing, kept at least 3 of their cars out in the street at all times and parked a beat up old truck in front of my house every damn day. What I found out is basically that as long as they drive the vehicle at least like once every two days or so (depending on city ordinances), there isn't jack you can do about it. It's still a city street.

After having spent countless hours thinking up ways to deter this, I would tend to go for anonymous things, whether nuisance or illegal. As simple as keeping a sprinkler sparying down their car all the time, or keep your trash dumpster set right there and stinking real bad. If it's a beater and nothing bothers them you'd have to get more creative.

Spraying the handles with pepper spray is priceless, wish I would have thought of that...

Anyway I live in a culdesac now, so there is no way to park in front of my house. Solved that problem, now if I could just solve the barking neighbor dog problem I'd be all set.
