What is your favorite SNES or NES game?

This post was inspired by em's quest to find a Super Nintendo. What is your favorite SNES/NES game? I love role playing games, so naturally my favorite SNES game is Ogre Battle, with Final Fantasy III coming in a close second. Ogre Battle is an amazing game that took me FOREVER to finish. It was by far the most tedious game I have ever played. There are so many damn things to do, but it was all worth it in the end.

However, despite the Ogre Battles and the Final Fantasy series, IMO one game stands out as the greatest game ever....

It is Destiny of an Emperor for old school NES. Unquestionably the greatest game I have ever played. [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

but my favorite game from the 80's was called "Legacy of the Ancients" on the C64 [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

LOL - this is a great thread for me as I've got like 9000 games in my NES/SNES directories but never knew which ones were worth playing as I never owend either system. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

SNES: Chrono Trigger (best crpg ever),Super Metroid,Zelda,Killer Instinct

I had to list them all.
Atari-2600 Indiana Jones/Pitfall(still hooked up to a tv in my moms basement and it still works.)
NES-Baseball(died replaced with SNES)
SNES-Mario Cart/ Madden 95(sold)
PS-EA sports supercross/ Madden 2000/ Crash Banditcoot series
PS2-MX Unleashed/Madden 2004(console died last month)

NES-EXCITEBIKE! Metroid was cool too. I have the Metroid Prime for my Gamecube and that is a serious kickass game.

Two other games worth mentioning are Ken Griffey Jr's MLB for SNES, and Tetris for NES. Two of the greatest things for a college kid to do when he is bored... play a full season in Griffey or play Tetris for hours.
