It is traditional--that was the official name of the Senators for most of their existence. Senators was actually only an unofficial name for the team except from 1957-71.
And really, it's no more ridiculous than naming a team after the color of their socks, is it? [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

That was a good name dammit (the Expos that is) !!! Named after the Montreal world fair, which happed the same year they started ('69).I like the name, and it's way better than the new one. Its pathetic that the Expos were mismanaged out of a city of 3.5 million people. They used to get 45,000 a game at one time.
