• Studio headphones question - opinions needed.

I'm looking for a new set, possible 2. I can't spend a mint on these things, so I'm looking at some of the less expensive ones.

Which of these would you choose, and why?

AKG - K240S

Audio Technica - ATH-M40fs

Sennheiser - HD280

There's also the Behringer stuff which is cheaper, but I have no experience at all with their stuff, and I'm not sure if it's worth saving the money.
I was looking at the Behringer HPS5000

I have Behringer HPS3000, they're cool, but don't you ever drop them, because they won't play right again. Never!

I use Audio Technica - ATH-M40fs. Very flat and have been very happy with them.

I'm kinda leaning toward the AKGs, but I've heard the Sennheisers are pretty damn good too. Then again, I know that AT make good stuff. Damn, I'm at a loss. I wish I could try them all out first.

I dropped mine quite a bunch of times, and they still play correctly. I don't care/know why, but they do.
If I had enough dough to spend, I'd get the AKGs though. Really great value for the money.

I have the Sennheiser HD280Pro's and love them, but have not owned any of the other ones you listed so cannot compare..

The Sony MDR-7506 is the industry standard. I use them, and I have seen them in most of the high-end studios I've worked in. They cost $100, but really, having a good set of headphones when mixing/recording is a MUST if you want your finished product to sound good.
