• Technical Death guitar/bassist wanted in S SF bay

I just saw a posting, so thought I'd make one too.

South Bay band looking for a guitarist or bassist that can play technical death. We've been together for a while now and just need to complete the lineup.

A mp3 can be heard here:
    http://onlinerock.com/clubs/xenophobe

If you've got what it takes, is local, have your own transportation and can afford your share of studio rent. Check it out, and if you like it, there's a lot more. The newer music is a bit more technical.

My only demand is that you move the whole band down to SoCal!

(the Cliff Burton move in reverse)

The main graphic and the song are awesome! ((Your drummer is insane!))

But why do Death songs always have to be so cliché?

Like: Sacrificial Mutilation, Carnivorous Malefaction, etc..

it wouldn't be death metal if it wasn't cliche. (how do you put the accent above the e? )

Just like the new Hardcore/metalcore songs are all about overcoming adversity. (adversity that most of them I seriously doubt had to truly overcome..whiny little middle class suburbanites) like "rise up", "overcome", "Live for this"

Alot of what makes a band fit into a certain genre is the song titles and lyrical content.

Okay I do admit to that.

But wouldn't it be refreshing and cool to break with that?

Thanks everyone... it's really one of the most unique projects I've heard in a while, let alone get to participate in.

GoR, he isn't the best drummer I've jammed with, but he's close to it. He does have the most unique style of drumming that I've heard in quite some time. Sometimes I lose my place in the song watching him play.

Ron, get your ass up to the bay area if ya wanna jam.

Hmm... typical death metal has cookie monster vocals, C# or lower tuning... half our set is in Eb, the other in drop Db. We're not the most technical, nor the most brutal, but we don't feel we have to be. If you want uber technical or insanely brutal, there are plenty of bands that already do that very well. We just like doing our own thing, and I think that's worked well for us, because we don't sound like every other death metal band out there.

There is no way I'd be able to keep up, even on rhythm guitar!

I'm listening to it 3 times in a row!

Re: Technical Death guitar/bassist wanted in S SF

Thanks Ron, Yabba... it's so hard finding members who can cope... I'd rather play the stuff on guitar, but since we can't find a guitarist or bassist for this type of stuff, I'm left playing it on four strings...

Here's another track if you want to hear:

Killer riffs. I'm not totally into the vocals but the songs are still cool. Good luck in your search. My drummer and I have been looking for a bass player and have found nothing but idiots so far
