• My ass is broken :( Poop talk and cancer scare.

During the summer, I was having trouble with my ass bleeding. I thought maybe I should cut down on the sex (joke), but seriously, I went to the Dr.

He said some startling stuff too me. He said my symptoms (rectal bleeding, going to the bathroom as SOON as I finish my meal, going 8-10 times a day, never having solid stool. that they are similar to colon cancer symptoms.

I'm half way into my 22nd year of life...I DO NOT want to hear this crazy talk. He also said that Colitis, I.B.S., Chrons (spelling) and something else have the same symptoms. The only way to know is to scope, and take a biopsy of the affected area.

Let's start off by saying, I don't want to hear my name, symptoms of cancer, and possibly chance of in the same sentence.

Well, I never really had a working reltionship with my father, I never met him, up until a few years ago, well he just had to have like 2 feet of his colon out.

My mother had all sorts of problems, but I think that may have been rooted in her drug use.

Well, I'm tired of a living an embarissing live (I can barely hold my B.M. to make it to the bathroom, when I've got to eat. We're playing out a few nights a week, and it means no eating, and eating ammodium before I go, just so I can function.)

That said, It's also embarrsing having to excuse myself from a meal, 2 times to use the toilet. So I'm getting a colonoscopy Friday (awesome huh!)

The reason for the talk is, I figured you guys would get a kick out of this (not my personal problems) but the prep.

To prep for this test, you drink Fleet Phospho-soda...it's sodium phosphate...it makes you crap...a lot. It's a lot less funny now that I've been typing it out, but hey, now it's typed, and you're going to read it :P

So starting at 10AM tomorrow, I'll be crapping all day. Wish me luck everyone, and let's hope it's one of the lesser things, and not cancer.

Thanks for sharing.....

Really, good luck bro, my Uncle died last year from colon cancer. I believe he was 'too embarassed' to go to the doctor and paid the price. Don't let that happen to you.

Is that stuff you are taking called 'go lightly'? When I worked at a hospital, I took that to lose weight once, HOLY CRAP!!! you are doing an incredible 'tub-girl' impersonation if you take that stuff, and it goes for hours!!!

Wow! That sucks bro! Aren't there other things it might be? I mean, didn't the doc say things like "Or it could be" or anything like that? These sound like symtoms (sp?) my buddy has... How do you tell a male friend he should get his ass looked at? Sorry, but that's just kinda funny... NOT your problems but what I typed.... well you know what I mean.... Anyway, you're in my prayers bro! Good luck! It's probably just a roid!!!

Bring your guitar into the bathroom as discussed in the other thread.

Seriously, best of luck to you brother. My mom's getting similar tests done as well. Scary to think about.

I also have IBS and it is aggreavated by alot of things-stress, food allergies, caffeine, smoking, etc. I wouldn't worry too much about cancer at your age unless their is a family history.

I had to do the FLeet kit thing before a procedure one time. Not a pleasant experience. The instructiions will tell you that you have about a half hour before it takes effect. I figured that was plenty of time to run tot he grocery store-it is only 5 minutes away. I was wrong. That stuff hit me like there was a turbo boost button in my ass. It was nearly uncontrollable. However, after you are done crapping every ten minutes for a few hours, you feel about 20 pounds lighter.

Anyway, good luck, bro. HOpe for the best, but be prepared for the worst.

On a side note if you are going that much, you do need to get checked out.

You are young and it's early.

A couple of things though:
Sugar - makes you crap
Caffeine - makes you crap
Aspartame/Nutrasweet/Diet Drinks - make you crap and loosen stool and generally f**k you up.
Dairy Products - can cause problems, even if you never had a problem before.

If you drink cokes, diet or not, or coffee, that could be your problem, and that monkey is harder to kick than heroin!

Prayin fer ya man.

by the way, it could also be something as simple as a bacterial or yeast infection in your digestive tract. If it is something more serious, like Crohn's disease, a diet change is really effective.

Re: My ass is broken Poop talk and cancer scare.

Well, I've had the procedure done as well. It ain't fun, but there's a lot worse things.

One of my buddies I jam with just had it done a few weeks ago; same deal as you; bleeding, cancer scare, etc. Turned out to be colitis. He was sedated during the procedure. I was not (I had mine done about 15 years ago, I was also 20). I am a big wimp when it comes to pain, and although it was a bit uncomfortable, it didn't hurt.

Mine turned out to be hemmoroids.

Just make sure the doctor doesn't have both hands on your shoulders during the procedure.

Seriously, best of luck, and props to you for contacting a doctor and just dealing with it instead of ignoring it.

Re: My ass is broken Poop talk and cancer scare

Thanks for the kind words. Yes he did say it could be other things (listed above) but I think he may have put the cancer thing in there to scare me into getting something that needs done, just to be sure.

Hey I'll tell you what, it's a shitty way to get someone to get it done, but I'm too embaressed as well, and well I'm getting it done.

I'd rather get it done, find out if it is something, get it treated, before waiting, then finding out I need to get a colostomy bag and then I'd shoot myself.

The stuff is called Fleet Phospho-soda.

Re: My ass is broken Poop talk and cancer scare

Dude, just listen to what's on this label. It's making me laugh, and that's important, staying positive.

For best results, take on an empty stomach: upon rising, at least 30 minutes before a meal, or at bedtime for overnight action.

Then it says to take 45 mL of it...I'm drinking 1.5 ounces at 10, and 1.5 ounces at 6. Man, talk about "overnight action"!

again, thanks everyone, I really do appreciate all the kind words.

The stuff I drank was called "Go Lytely". I told the doctor it should have been called "Go Frequently". He appreciated my positive attitude.

And then he shoved a three foot hose up my ass.

Re: My ass is broken Poop talk and cancer scare

Been there bro, and done that. My first ass-camera was at 31, and I've got to do another one next year (2005). The worst part, by far, is the stuff you have to drink. And the crapping. The procedure is fast and easy.

My bleeding was benign, they removed it, the end (get it? END?). But ass cancer has killed so many people in my family I can't count... my dad started his ass-cameras when he was around 40, and at 60+ he keeps doing it a lot, and they keep removing stuff (just like you're supposed to) before it becomes bad. Ass cancer can work like that: if you remove polyps early, no problem: if you LEAVE them, they can become malignant. Hence the frequent ass cameras.

ANYWAY, don't sweat it yet, bro. The prep sucks, but the test will be over soon, and then you can breathe easier I'll bet.

Keep us posted. On the test, not the crapping.

Keith

p.s. One time my dad did all the prep and went to the doc, and he was a DAY EARLY. He thought he was going to have to do it all again! But they let him go early.
