Re: What kind of vehicle should I get?

Well, the wife and I have decided on a Subaru Forester. We drove one of those back to back with an Outback and for our needs and dollars, the Forester came out ahead.

For those of you in St. Louis, have you had any dealings with the Lou Fusz group? They've got a nice '05 Forester for $18,990 with all the rebates. They say "no hassle pricing" but I'm wondering how firm they are with the sticker. Anyone know if they're flexable? Don't want to pay too much and I can't stand haggling. In fact, if anyone has any pointers on talking the salesman down, I'm all ears.

Ask to see the invoice and then offer them $100 dollars over what they paid for it. That'll be a good starting point. Seriously.... There's always incentives/rebates from the manufacturer that they don't tell you about that they wind up keeping for themselves. They may act insulted at first, but they'll get over it. Play hardball.

All my recommendations go for Audi. If you have money, buy RS4 or RS6, if you don't, stick to 100 or A6 ...

Audi's are IMHO best cars Europe can make ... After I drove an RS6 I've become truly dedicated to this brand.

*Note to self: don't buy from Krista's dealership cuz they'll refuse to show you the invoice.

What am I thinking? I wouldn't do that anyway, cuz she sells MOPARS. But I digress. ANY dealer that won't show you the original invoice is questionable at best. Personally, I'd walk out the door if they refused. Accomodate me, YOUR CUSTOMER, or I'm gonna spend my money elsewhere. It's that simple. Ya gotta play hardball. Be nice, but remain firm.

Honestly, I dont know if they show invoice or not....I dont deal with any of that....I see the car deals after its a done deal and its time to work up the contract and get the plates and all that....the biggest headache I get from customers are the ones that call 2 days after they buy a car wanting to know if the plates are in (like I see a car deal 2 days after its done) and the ones that say they dont owe us money when I know they do....I get the hardest damn job there and paid the least...does that tell ya anything???

Dealer invoice pricing information on all new cars is available here:

                              Edmunds.com

...and don't forget to check the dealer incentives and rebates section, for the secret stuff Krista and other dealer won't tell you about ...

                              Other cash

On the Escape, we have had one for a few years. No problems at all. Great SUV. Just make sure you get the V6, as the 4 banger is anemic. It's a champ in the snow, too. Personally, I wouldn't buy a Subie, as their reliability records ain't the greatest. It's your dime, though.

you can search for rebates/incentives and find those, but you cant find the dealer cash....hehehe
