  • Re: James D. Niggemeyer is a hero

    [ QUOTE ]
Well I've finally slept a bit after the news last night and assembled some of my thoughts. Last Monday, Nov 29th was my b-day and my great friend Richard Christy took me to see the Haunted, Damagplan, Shadows Fall tour. Sadly though I spent most of the night backstage drinking because my ex dumped me 4 days earlier. After Damamgplan played Dime, Vinnie, Pat were all back there at the bar and even toasted my b-day with some whiskey.

Now I feel like shit considering I spent my b-day not celebrating but feeling bad and now Dime's gone. I can still see him lifting his glass to me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, take solace in the fact that while you could never have forseen the events that took place last night, you were in a position for him to toast your birthday. Most of us can't claim that.

    • RIP Dime

Incredibly tragic news..I personally was very much inspired by Dimebag's playing on the first few major label Pantera records. RIP, Dime. You're up there with the other fallen legends now.

All the sudden,Dimebag related stuff on E-bay, the price gone up and with many bids.
$1150 guitar now the seller changed the price to $2000.
              Stupid imports are $1000.
I have been checking some Dime stuff last several months almost every day and got out bidded on several times in last month.... now too late that I can't even afford.

Watching my Pantera "Watch It Go" Home video from 1997 and it just makes me sadder.
                      This sucks so bad.
I feel for Dime's family, the victims, and everyone that was there.

I think its best to leave the gun debate OUT of this thread please. Its not the place for it. This thread is to post about Dimebag and honor his memory, his music, and his inspiration he has given so many musicians. Please Dont bring your political gun control views here, leave that for other threads.

just when you think you can't feel any sicker than you already do, the world throws another bean ball at you.
                          we need a new pitcher.
i think they should tear the shooters body to pieces and feed him to the maggotts.

Shocking and sad news. I wasn't a very big Pantera fan, but I liked 'em a good bit.

I had really forgotten about Dimebag and Pantera, etc. until the late 1990s when the Dallas Stars went on their Stanley Cup run. Dimebag was a huge Stars fan, even contributing a short song for the Stars organization (the Stars organization and the players really embraced Dimebag. They even included him and Vinnie in their victory parade after winning the Stanley Cup. The Stars do have a couple of short statements about Darrell on their website here: http://dallasstars.com/homeNewsDetail.jsp?id=2658 ).

Darrell always came across as a good guy, and he will definitely be missed.
