No idea how Vinnie is going to fare... Could you imagine seeing your brother gunned down right in front of you while you were playing a show... Zakk it will hurt indeed but poor Vinnie Paul

"Numb" is the right word Chuck. I was never a HUGE Pantera fan, but I had a few of the cd's. I purchased Damageplan when it came out and liked a few songs, but Dime & Vinnie were the only reason I listened to either band. My wife and I saw Damageplan open for Slayer back in June...I think I even started a thread about it.

The man was a huge talent on the guitar with an incredible sense of groove and timing. His technique was flawless and he had an amazing stage presence.

I feel as Chuck does....numb. Not so much for being a big fan of his, but for being a music fan. Dime lived and breathed for metal and guitars and to that I can relate, and because of that I mourn.

I can see a Vinnie and Zakk band in the future to commemorate Dime.

I think it doesn't matter necessarily if you are a Pantera or Damageplan fan... or even a huge fan of Dime's. It still affects you.
It just that an incredibly talented and influencial guitarist was wiped out so horribly. It's sickening.
            It should never have happened.
I'm still speechless, been a wreck all day.
I can't even imagine how much worse it is for Dime's family and bandmates and close friends.
Not to forget the people that were there in the club as well.
Things like this make me really sick inside- it doesn't matter who it is.

yep, evidently he played a show there with Aska (I didn't take that pic, and don't know Aska, but they seem to be friends of the Abbott bros (one of the news annoucments on their site mentions a birthday gig for vinnie paul; that may be the show that pic was taken at)

some more from teh same show (I assume):

Darrel was really close to his brother. I personally doubt we'll see Vinnie in music again.

I just pray that it wasn't Phil Anselmo's recent bullshit metal hammer interview that sparked this incident.
                      Niggemeyer is indeed a hero....
My thoughts go out to all the victims' families....
