I sent off an email:

This brief statement is in regards and reaction to Monster Cables' recent crusade against all companies, entities, websites,and anything else that has anything to do with the name of "Monster".
This is a ridiculous wast of time, resources, and a pointless burden on our judicial system.
If Monster Cable thinks that they have the intellectual rights to a word in the English language then I suppose the Name is in fact befitting of this company.
I will not therefore be purchasing any product associated with the Monster cable brand henceforth and will recommend that my associates do likewise.
