The biggest problem is that the Yankees sign everyone they want for top dollar so they beat everyone else out. When it comes trade time nobody wants to pay those inflated salaries. That's primarily why the Sox are cleaning house, so to speak. They don't want a bunch of players that are out of reach for other teams. And they don't want to deplete the farm system to have to add guys during the season. There aren't to many other teams besides the Yankees and the Sox that have big budgets. Personally I don't see how the D-Backs can afford anyone at this point. They are 51 million in debt. That's probably why you aren't going to see a straight up deal for Vazquez and whomever. The Yankees would have to pretty much give up 50 million worth of there players and pay a huge percentage of their salaries to get 1 guy. They are already in huge debt also. Hell their paying Clemens until 2010. lol Deferring payments is great until they all start piling up.
