i think it would be cool if the signature was actually a link to that persons signature lick on a guitar, if that would be possible. you know, play a sick little quick lick or a short solo that comes from inside of you . something that describes you on a guitar. or is that a stupid idea?

I agree witht he rest, other forums are WAY too long.... I think ours is fine, it could be a handful of characters longer, but not a big deal in my mind...

If I may speak for the admins, I'd say that the signature length was set as "low" as it was to keep the forum from bogging down when loading some signatures. I guess you'll have to decide what you'd prefer, a big flashy signature or a faster running forum.

I personally prefer the faster running forum.

I've run out of space to write what I wanted to by no more than 20 or 30 characters. I totally agree that pictures, diagrams, lengthy gear lists and stuff like that have no business in a signature, but maybe an extra 100 or 200 characters might be useful.

It's 100 or 200 characters that you personally would use as words or quotes. Someone else would use it as html or UBB code to add the pictures that bog down the site. It's something that everyone is not going to use the same way.

That would be cool, but I don't think there's a budget to fly you all over the world. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] I saw the Dimebag picture. I'm thinking that the admins let it slide due to the way that this board took the tragic event. It hit many of us hard. I'm sure once we have all had enough time to heal they'll try to clamp down on those kinds of things.

yeah i noticed the 100 charcters limit when i wanted to edit my used gear in summer
the former limit must have been a lot bigger cause i´had to trim it down al lot to fit it in again
seems like, as long as you dont touch them your old long sigs will be fine in that 100 limit too but if you want to edit....
looks like some of you still use their olds (lengthwise)
i agree to you that i want a fast forum too
but i think to blow that 100 char to 150 or maybe 200 (nobody really needs more that 200 char...)would be a good and usefull idea
