Plexi Palace is an excellent forum.

Re: Other guitar forums that are (almost) as good

My only experiences are with:

-The Carvin board where I posted maybe twice.

-The Acoustic Guitar Magazine forum where I posted very little.

-The Acoustic Guitar Forum (formerly Taylor Guitar Forum) where I bought my Taylor K14c. I rarely post at the AGF just because I find that other people ask sort of asinine questions, like questions about Elixir strings, short scale Taylors VS long scale ones, model XXX versus model YYY, that sort of useless comparison crap I don't care for. Plus, their thread subject titles absolutely suck, oftentimes with, "Question?", or "Strings", or "Help!". And the place is populated by people of all ages, so you'd think it'd be SOMEWHAT like the JCF's generally more specific thread titles. So, really, I went there to purchase an expensive guitar as a newbie and don't really participate much there any more, which goes against everything the JCF stands for in terms of the Classifieds... Re: Other guitar forums that are (almost) as good

I'm sort of new at the Dean forums, but they seem to be pretty good. I joined Carvin's forum, made one post about dyeing rosewood boards black, they went ballistic, and I never returned. I guess I should join the Les Paul forums, but truthfully, the JCF fills the void when it comes to yapping about guitfiddles.

i still have no idea why the FDP banned me,i made one post about a fender w/ a made in usa logo that looked fake, (which later turned out to be a fender neck w/ a fake usa logo).
one site i have been goin to and checking out alot lately is musicans forums i like it cause it has large sections for guitar,drums,bass,piano/keyboards. lots of ppl there of all ages, but i havent checked out the classified section yet so i cant comment about that.

LOL So true Offrampmotel!!!! The ESP board is mostly really whiny 15/16yr olds who think Metallica is the best thing since the onset of puberty. There just doesnt seem to be much intelligent conversation at all over there. Really makes me appreciate this forum and the people here.

thegearpage.net is a very good place especially if you are into high end gears and selling.
Dean forum is good reading.
Les Paul Forum is also good place...makes you feel like you are poor though..

The Duncan forum is also a nice, laid back place to go. Not as rough and tumble a bunch as we are here, but probably one of the last places where people still respect eachother on the net

the fdp is ok. Ive bought and sold stuff there and it turned out ok. Theres a lot of info there too. But I stopped posting there because I got fed up with all the deleting of posts and banning of people for no good reason. Maybe thats changed, I dont know, but it was outa hand about a year ago. Post anything remotely negative about fender and your post was history. Ive discovered that the bcr forum blows chunks, very little activity.

Ya know what, if they think Metallica is the greatest thing then that's cool. From reading their posts I can see that they are kids for the most part and being into (relativly) heavy stuff at that age can only lead to good things. When I was 15 I thought Metallica was the be all and end all of metal but then I discovered prog-metal. Gotta start somewhere to get somewhere.

Yeah, I was a member there quite awhile ago, didn't post much. For some reason my membership got deleted and I just reregistered there not too long ago. I've only posted a little bit there, mostly lurk.

This is actually the only forum I hang out at! I did try the GMP forum once, but it seems to be in a perpetual state of hiatus. But I've made some good friends here and bought/sold a lot of good stuff to alot of good folks. Can ya feel the JCF love! Oh yeah, the Seymour Duncan forum! I posted there maybe five time tops. Seemed like decent people there too.
