Just found out my Grandmother passed away Christmas Day.
I dunno really what to say, this wasn't a surprise (she was closing in on 90), but I'm still kinda, I dunno, a little bit shocked maybe.
My parents have been providing hospice care for her themselves... a very Saintly task.
I talked to them on Christmas, they didn't talk long as they were sitting with Grandma.
Keith got to see her last week while he was in CA, and got some pictures with her, though she didn't remember who he is.
I love my Grandma.
She was an incredibly accomplished horsewoman, and made a MEAN apple pie!
I will miss her dearly, but she is with Grandpa now and my parents can have some peace and rest.
My sympathies, Em. Losing a loved one is never easy- I have one grandmother left. I lost the other three over ten years ago and still think of them often. I know theyr'e still with me everyday.
Em, I'm so sorry to hear. I never really knew any of my grandparents except one, and when she left us, I was pretty devastated. I'm so seriously sorry that you are feeling this right now, I know it hurts.

I'm sad, but I'm okay. Y'all know how it is...
It was Grandma's time and she went peacefully in my Mom's arms in her own home. Just how she wanted. She didn't let go easily, its been hard to see her deteriorate, it was especially hard on Mom. She never left her side for months and slept in a chair by Grandma's bedside so she wouldn't wake up scared. I'm glad that is over.
I know its a part of life and all, but emotional things like this freak me out, especially when they are so close to home. I'm grateful on one level, but.. I dunno. I can't explaint it.
I can't deal with death. Fukk death.

Hey Em, very sorry to hear about your grandma. As much as it sucks, 90 is a very good and long life too. Stay strong and hope the rest of the holidays are ok for ya.
Sorry to hear about that Em. I don't have any of my grand parents. Sometimes it's naturally assumed that it's easier when they are older, but it doesn't make a difference if you ask me.
