Most players don't realize how hard it is to copy Mick's style until they try to play his stuff. Not just the solo's. His approach to rhythm playing is unique as well. We have tickets to the Crue. It's gonna be great.

The rest of the members of MC should take note. This dude would give anything just to be healthy, and they constantly are putting poisons in their bodies. Makes no sense. I'm sort of biased though. My wife has MS and I hear that all of the time. Big props to Mick for being straight up about it.

I'm with you Sully.

Mick has always been a hero to me.
He may not be a virtuoso.... But he always plays for the song. He plays great riffs & rhythms and his leads are always tasteful & fit the song well.

Mick is awesome! I have nothing but respect for the man. Motley Crue was a big part of life back in my high school days. The first concert I ever saw was the Crue on the Dr. Feelgood tour back in 1990. Faster Pussycat opened and played great, but the Crue just blew them off the stage. They totally took it to another level. I really hope he's able to overcome his illness. I saw them on Leno last night and thought Mick played great. So he messed up a few leads, big deal! Who hasn't? Considering all that has happened to him lately, Mick was awesome! Sure there's more technical players around, but I doubt you could find a more solid straight ahead rock guitar player anywhere.

What an awsome guy. One of the biggest rock bands of the 80's that everyone knows is getting back together and right in the middle of it he just tells it just as he sees it. Ya gotta respect guys like that.

I don't know the guy, but from what I've heard he is both a cool guitar player and a great guy in general. I hope he can get healthy.

I always liked the few Crue songs that I've heard, I'm really tempted to check out this tour and hear the full albums now. It seems like I was born too late for my musical tastes, most of the stuff I like is from the 80's and I wasn't even born until '85..

Re: mick mars \'effing rules.

I've always liked Micks tone. You can hear each note clearly in every chord he plays. There is definitely nothing muddy about his playing. He also has one of the cleanest & most crisp lead sounds. I think he is just as good of a lead player as many of the "best" out there. Back in the Dr Feelgood era I was just starting to get into metal and that was one of my first (if not the first...) metal albums I purchased. My love affair with them didn't progress much from there but alot of his work on that album was a definite inspiration to me when I was starting out.
I have the utmost respect for Mick.

Bittersuite is truly is. Beautiful piece. Strange how i came to really respect and admire the guy who, as a 6 year old, i thought looked like a human cat (because he had that weird mustache (whiskers!) with the middle shaven). funny things you learn about people sometimes, great piece.

thanks sully.

Ya know, I always thought his playing on "God Bless the children of the Beast" was very cool. He never got any credit for that.
Chuck I agree with you too, Mick has to speak out because if he didnt the 3 idiots in the band would start flappin their jaws for him. And who in their right mind would let those 3 speak for them I have always thought those 3 guys were total a$$es. I wish Mick well on his recovery and hope he can get healthy to tour and STAY healthy. Big kudos to him for speaking out, he usualy doenst get a chance to cuz the 3 glory hogs are always fighting for the spotlight.
