And I bet you get really annoyed that (most) theater chains have the audacity to bore you with 10 minutes of commercials followed by 10 minutes of previews after you plunk down your $13.50 to see a movie at the 'plex. [img]/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

Or how about buying your favorite movie on DVD for $25, after you'd already probably paid the $13 to see it in the theater. You get home, plunk it in your player, and are forced to sit through yet another 10 minutes of commercials and 10 minutes of previews, and they've DISABLED the SKIP button? Not around here, I think they're about $7 for the plex... But they are on the high side IMO, we never go to the show, I just wait for thr DVD and hit Wal-Mart or Best Buy on DVD Tuesday, ( which I didn't do yesterday, errr )

Anyway, Em, in almost all cases I've seen, satelite is cheaper than cable, you may want to look into it. Unless of course you've just got basic-basic because some providers force you to have basic cable in order to receive high speed internet or pipeline, e.g Charter...

Just a thought, but we have every possible channel DirecTV has to offer for about $110 a month. I've heard in some markets that cable is $50+ for basic. And with satelite, you get much better quality programming/resolution than basic and most of the time even digital cable. And with all the deals these days, you can get satelite installed in 3+ rooms, plus a DVD player or DVR for free, it may be worth having a look. I think you can get basic satelite for about $30 or less per month.

Yeah, basic satellite here is $24.95 a month.
It's probably close to $30 after taxes, but even the basic is still a few more channels than basic cable at $46.95 plus tax. They will even put up an antenna for your local channels, since the cable companies made that a point in one round of commercials. Eventually satellite will probably take over, that's why they're signing people up at a loss right now.

Satellite and all is very cool if you want a lot of choices and movies. For us, it would just be a waste. And we'd have problems with it because not only is it windy as hell here, we also get quite a bit of cloud cover. And we'd still only watch three channels. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
We have basic cable, and even with... I dunno... 20 or so channels its way too much.
We've only had cable for three years and if the network and affiliates and all keep namby pambying around, we'll drop it soon enough. 'Cept I'd miss Southpark!! [img]/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img]

My girlfriend has digital and I was trying to get to ONE channel and there was something like FIVE of the same channel! But they all had different shows on. [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img]
And WHY would you want four Lifetime channels? Who watches that anyway? [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
It was way too much work just finding a channel. Forget it.

I almost walked out of the theatre the first time I saw a Pepsi Comercial before a Movie I just paid to see.

I have some DVD software the will extract JUST the movie from the DVD. Oh ya, it also removes the copyright protections. SHHHHHHHH.... [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]
