I've mostly been playing my Ovation for the past few months, actually. Hardly been playing electrics at all. When I'm jamming with friends I generally play the SG, mostly because it's easier to change tunings and such. I play the Jackson mostly when I'm practicing at home.

Re: It hate to say this, but...

Some of the comments on this post are hilarious! Dudes I have been playing about 30 years and keep on improving my technique by the way.
I have found as my technique has improved I am able to not only go faster and do all the fancy shred stuff but also get more tone out of a guitar with my fingers.

I have either owned or played most every brand out there including all the high end customs.

I have yet to find a Tom Anderson or John Suhr that plays and sounds as good as my Jackson PC1. I have not found a better shred guitar - not Kramer, not Ernie Ball, not Hamer, not Ibanez - none of them.

Why? Because Jackson has both tone and playability - and top of the line parts. Some guitars have good tone but they dont play as well or have cheap parts ie. Ibanez Jem - yes I owned one of these also.
Others have crappy tone but shred great because they have a skinny neck or shorter scale length.

I have had an SG, Fender Strat, Hamer Californian, Gibson Firebird (original), Ibanez Jem, PRS, Charvel, etc...

We all have our different opinions of course but in mine you can't get better than Jackson regardless of how much money you spend.

Have any one of you guys ever tried a PC1? They don't hang these in your local music shop even if they are a Jackson dealer.

Some of you may like a shorter scale lenght or the strings closer together. Can't fault you for that. Some may like a more vintage sound. Others may like a 21 or 22 fret guitar because you can get easier vibrato and stretches with them.

A lot of it is also what you are use to. But if you want a high performance shred machine with the capability of all the tricks, the best in playability and killer tone Jackson is as good as it gets.
PLAY TILL U DIE !!!

Well I currently have 1 guitar here, 1 guitar being shipped to me, and 1 pile of parts that will be put together to be a guitar. They're all Jacksons, do I get a prize?

Charvelians stand and unite. While the Jacksonites bicker amongst themselves. We must seize control of the guitar world that the Jacksonites stole from us.
Lets bring back the sound of blazing solos. Show the world that a 22 fret neck is really all you need. Awaken the groupies with their bosom cups overflowing (spilling out of their blouses also). The return of Spandex (actually leave Spandex in the 80s.) The return of big hair. ( If any of us can still grow any hair). Bring back the days of partying through the night and then going to work.(I'm lucky if I can make it through Letterman and not feel like I haven't had any sleep the night before).
My brother Charvelians our day has finally come to avenge that dark year 1986. When that dastardly mutiny took place and we were banished from our warm Socal lands to Japan.

Kids are fighting lost my train of thought anyway talk amongst yourselves.

I love my Jacksons.

I love my Gibsons.

They both are great guitars for my playing style. But I gotta tell ya, none of my Jacksons, including my 2 string thru RR's, can touch the action on my Gibsons. Blasphemy? Maybe, but true none the less.
