  • Jackson San Dimas Logs.....

Robert was awesome enough to share the J-serial logs to 1000 with us on his site. But I'm curious about the RR logs...were those taken as well? Or are they still in the hands of Jackson?
Also I've been thinking about trying to get a log going for the first 1000 RR's or so...just make up a quick spreadsheet with Color, layout, bridge, and Custom/Student for the known serials....and make it available on my site. From the JCF we probably have close to half the 1000 made....

Well I do know this much .. Back in 94/95 Sandy checked the serial # to my original Rhoads and it was still in their logs. I bought that new in 84 Serial # (RR0799) so when did the logs walk away? If it was before 95 then yes they still have them ..

Rob does have some RR serial numbers, but it is far from complete. His logs are copies of the originals. I have been able to get some RR;s info, but not all. Seems like he has some big gaps.

FWIW, to demostrate how flawed these entires can be, my old Rhoads student that Tim now owns was logged as having a Floyd when in reality it was a Kahler from day one.

I hear some people are getting info. However i am talking about the copies of the logs Rob has. He has J0001-J1002 and some Rhoads models. This isn't work order info, just the log entries which are very brief. I would almost be willing to kill for full work order info on my guitars.

No idea. If I knew I would be on the phone. I do know it was NOT FMIC.

When I bought it I actually had a 3 pu Black Beauty Les Paul on Layaway for $550 and Jackson was going to increase price so they marked their guitars down and I bought it for $799 and cancelled the paul ... go figure ...

for some reason i never remembered jacksons ever being under a million dollars back then.

I understand there was a fire or some other problem at some point which destroyed a bunch of records. This is what I was told as I was not able to get info from Jackson on my '84 RR a year or 2 ago (maybe 3?). I never followed up. I have seen enough guitars here to be comfortable with the history of mine (owned since '87).
