A four door Charger is blasphemy. I do like the new GTO better, at least in theory. When they resurrect muscle car names, they should at least attempt to make them resemble the cars that made the name famous in the first place. If you want to make us happy, make the cars look exactly like the old cars. Add updated brakes, suspension, etc., but don't cut the horsepower. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]Comment

Yeah ...but that's way too much money for a toy ...brand new...it's silly
a horrible waste of money , a very bad investment...that thing will be like all others in that class and be in the 30 to 40 k range and in a few years you'll lose half that value..
These cars are fo people who just have shitloads of cash to burn without a care..
Don't get me wrong ..it's cool and new and all that but not for long...
I'm going to buy a 427 Shelby...why...well a car like that sells for X amount of $$$. I can drive the crap out of it for as long as I want ..and get that X amount right back when and if I sell it...
you can't do that with any new toy like a C6 Vette , the Mustang , GTO , Charger...or whatever...you'll lose your ass..
if losing your ass is NOT a problem or a big concern ...hell go for it .. I wouild!

I think it looks pretty cool. Of course, I'd have to drive one, before I would pass judgement on it. I guess handling is a small factor to you guys, but to me, the looks are totally irrelevant, because, strangely enough I am inside the vehicle when I drive it.................Comment

The 'Fast and Furious' GTO is killing me. It looks like a ricer accord.
I actually can't tell a diff between the 300 and the Charger without putting them side by side. That's sad.
I agree, would it kill them to take the originals and put modern bumpers and safety equipment, modern powerplants, AC and suspension??? It can't be that hard. They could even use a dreaded unibody throwaway shell with the old lines and I'd buy it over either of these.When you take a shower in space, you have to press the water onto your body to clean yourself, and then you gotta vacuum it off. - Ace FrehleyComment

That charger is a joke. IMO, all those cars are. THe GTO is a joke, the Mustang is a joke. As far as non-classic cars go, the only real option is the new C6 Vette. I am not into sports cars anyway. I like useful vehicles that you can haul stuff/people with. The sports car market is in the crapper anyway. GM dropped the caramo/firebird line because the market was disappearing and sales drop. The F body will not be coming back Ken. THe chevy SSR is seriously dying on the vine, and that car/truck is a joke too.
YOur gonna see more of that, sports car lines disappearing. That Charger is gonna flop, gauranteed. I predict the mustang will fall next. I have been in the car biz for 10 years and have really watched the trends on this. "cars" (sedans and coupes) are in general heading for extinction, SUV's, trucks, SUV hybrids, are dominating the market and get a stronger hold every year. Wanna lose some money fast? buy a sports car, and then try and sell it. Same thing with luxury cars. They are a dime a dozen and you can buy them cheap anywhere. New dealers give them away below cost if they have to, and used are easily bought for wholesale prices.
-edit- and if you notice these SUV, truck, hybrid sales continue to grow even with todays gas prices. So people keep talking about fuel economy bringing back the little pond hoppers....I dont think so....I think people are TOO concerned with status and image to drive those anymore. A lot of this is just marketig to the "baby boomers". They think using a name that they all loved when they were younger will bring them all in. They are recreating all the cars that this group had "back in the day" and are trying to get them to buy this new piece of crap for nostalgia. It's happened with the Malibu, the GTO, and now with the Charger. And the younger ones don't realize this is not the care we all talk about and think it's cool to have one.
