A wide area is under a boil water advisory.

Parts of the North Greenbush Water District, East Greenbush, city of Rensselaer, Troy, parts of Schodack and the village of Menands are all affected.

Residents should boil their water for one minute before drinking it.

A water main break in Troy earlier this week prompted the advisory.

Funny story along these lines...

One of my nephews plays Little League. His folks (my sis) recently moved the family out of Troy to another local town, so he had to switch teams. The sheltered candy@ss local kids were wary, and immediately pegged him as the new team bruiser. They would only refer to him as "Troy kid" for the first few months, as he kept spanking the ball to shame them. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Troy could actually clean up nice if you just got rid of a few of the criminal element that reside there. It has it's pluses. Like "Famous Lunch". Gotta love mini dogs drowned in some kind of sauce that once ressembled a meat product. lol And that bar down on river road that has all the different wings. What the hell is the name of that joint?

Ahhh. Famous Lunch. A buddy of mine (...drunk at the time, of course) tried to go for the record one night. He puked his guts out after about 30-ish.
