Re: Nevermore news...

Yeah that's it G...he's in that...that's cool...he deserves it ...he's a real good player..

he's in a project right now with my old friend Juan of Attaxe and veteran Cleveland shredder Neil Zaza..

I wish I could snag him...but his plate is way too full of pretty good gigs..

I can't wait for the rerelease, I hope they give it a huge promo push as if it's a new album so there might be some heat on it so non-Nevermore fans will go check it out.

As for the next album, I can't wait to hear that team of Steve and Jeff tear that crap up.

Steve is cool...But I wish Tim Calvert (Forbidden) was still availuble to do it...He's a full time airline pilot and can't rely on metal to feed his family ..that sucks...had to get a day job...just like Matt Barlow (Iced Earth)

He was a perfect match for co-lead for Loomis...not that Loomis needs any help to fill solo spots...but Calvert sure held his own with him...Steve is strictly a rythm player...even shred miester Chris Broderick (Jag Panzer) just held the rythm down without taking a single solo...and he sure can solo..

But Steve does do a very fine Job in Testament and Nevermore...I can't wait to hear the new Testament!!!

The Gathering is one of my all time faves...Too bad James Murphy is very ill...what's the news on him anywhoo...anyone know I haven't heard anything!!!

I wonder why Murphy didn't played some badass leads on The Gathering, his got the chops like Alex has.

Hell, Jeff and Warrell
have to work as chefs when they're off tour?
That's not right, though they apparently love it. I think they'd love playing full-time more though, but who knows?

[/ QUOTE ]I knew Warrel was a chef, didn't know about Jeff. And Van works for Nintendo as a programmer... he also thinks he's not that great of a drummer!

I did an interview with DiGoergio just after "The Gathering" came out and I said how I thought this was Testaments best BUT, I was hoping for more leads from Murphy. There was a long pause, then DiGeorgio just goes..."Huh...Yeeahhh". I got the feeling he was offended. Good thing I didn't ask him why he held back on the bass chops! He did have that tumour during the recording and had been acting strange (Distant and unmotivated) according to Peterson, so that may have something to do with his creativity during that time.

James told me they didt even record that album as a group, most of the work was done when he came in. As you know even before it was known that he was sick he went through a period of erratic behaviour that was so bad it alienated friends and family.

That's all I can say now about that. He's a great guy and I've seen him go through some brutal stuff.

James is tough and full of heart to have gone through what he did and deserves a Probably one of the hardest working musicians in metal for sure and all with a friggin major medical condition!

Can't wait to hear the Chuck tribute, anyone heard any word on that?

Re: Nevermore news...

Dreaming Neon Black just has too much mid range bass frequency. THe guitars are pretty clear and so are the drums and vocals..but the bass lines fart my car speakers out like none other.

Its my favorite Nevermore Album too.

EOR is more "cloudy" than "muddy" If you can grasp what I'm trying to say. I don't feel like explaining myself.
