Is I5 at the Grapevine closed???

Hey all you LA people...

Is I5 at the Grapevine closed? I'm driving down to NAMM tomorrow and need to know. A friend of mine heard on the radio today that it's closed. Another friend emailed me a traffic webpage and it says that 1 lane is open. Anyone know for sure? Thanks!

The websites for CalTrans and stuff are the best way to find out. I live too far to pay much attention otherwise.

It shouldn't be closed unless it is raining. It's been hot as balls here recently, so I think you are set. Just if the weather starts to get poor in the next few days, leave early. It starts to get really bad at night.

This however does not meen that their won't be any traffic though! Have fun on the drive, I've done it two or three times in the last month. I subscribe to www.coasttocoastam.com and bring shows along with me. It's a great time killer.

My friend told me it was closed due to a mudslide. I checked some sites and some are saying nothing while others say 1 lane is open and to expect 15 minute delays.

it was down to one lane a week ago today; couldn't tell at the time what exactly the cause was. If it was a mudslide at the time (this was sorta right at the end of all the rain), I'd think they would have cleared it out by now though... I hope it's open, the delays a week ago were more like 3 hours than 15 minutes [img]/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

Like Paddok said though, the weather's been beautiful here for days now, so hopefully those sites just have old info?
