Re: Scariest movie ever?

I live right down the block from a cemetary, I'm staring into a dark hallway (my computer is at a wierd angle), and I'm alone in the dark at 3 in the mornin talkin about this stuff. I think I'll read it later, lol. That's actually some scary stuff there dude. I wouldn't have slept in the same bed again. Would've taken a permanant place on the couch . God I'm such a p*ssy, lol but I love that sorta stuff

Psychologically, The Shining is the scariest movie ever.

3:15am here too... and the blood is too boiled for me to sleep soundly tonight.

But damn, that sharp finger... I swear it was Satan clawing his way into my brain, or some old ugly witch lady scratching my scalp for some skin bits for her magic potions/brew or something! Just the thought of the invasion of privacy by something supernatural REALLY REALLY freaks me out because I KNOW that my family locks all the windows and doors before going to bed at night. We may be safe against criminals and the SWAT team, but the frickin' devil and his goons can obviously get in any damn time they wish! Aliens with probes too seem to have powers of being where they bloody well please whenever they like!

Okay, too much of me reading horror fiction as a teen...

Could you explain? I ALWAYS watch "The Shining" whenever it's shown on TV and I have always loved it, but never really found it scary. I'm not sure what a psychological scare is supposed to be. The thought of the old woman (again with the old scary women ) in the tub is freaky though. Also, large empty cold halls... but Jack doesn't scare me, and Danny's Shining doesn't scare me either. But the butler... "I... corrected them." I love that quote. Oh man, I haven't seen "It" since I was in grade 8! I also read it beforehand for a grade 8 book report. I liked the book but the movie left something to be desired, thrills-wise. But clowns are always scary...

Damn, I keep meaning to rent "Se7en", a recommendation from another JCFer, but I keep forgetting. And I didn't have time to go see "Saw" when it came out in theaters a few months ago. Been a couple of months since scary/thriller movies were discussed on the JCF and I still haven't seen either... damn procrastination.

Long as Satan or that witch didn't touch ya anywhere else, you shouldn't worry. Remember that scene in Ghostbusters? I was so small when I first saw Ray gettin a BJ from the ghost and I asked my older sister what was happening cause I didn't understand. She told me she'd tell me when I was older, lol

"Saw" was pretty cool. The ending just made me go "What the fck?". Ending wasen't as much scary as it was a complete 180 from what you expected. Kinda like those M. Night Shamalan (sp?) movies. Haven't heard of the other movie.

I thought The Ring was a dumb movie... did nothing for me. Then again, I haven't been scared by a movie since I was a little kid either. The Others was an awesome movie but, again, I didn't think it was scary at all. I actually just bought The Village the other day... one of the dumbest movies I think I've ever seen! I was going to rent it, but there were no more in stock. I said screw it, I'll just buy it, how bad could it be? I was wrong.

Just go look at the guys in the cd jacket dressed up in leather, spikes and corpse paint. That should make ya laugh (works for me, and Emperor rules!)

I love this thread, lol. I love horror movies, especially the classics. Dracula has always been one of my favorites.

Yeah, the really old black and white horror movies are the best, like Dracula, Jeckyll & Hyde, White Zombie, Creature From The Sea, Night of the Living Dead, Nightmare Castle, Dementia 13, etc.

They recently re-released em on DVD. I only saw Dracula and Young Frankenstein, but I'm sure there are more to come. I saw em in Best Buy if anyone wants to look them up
