Re: Scariest movie ever?

Well the Catholic church attendance had peaked at it's all time high right after that movie...for a straight year....there was a lot of people that were plain freaked out by that movie...

I went to bed with a squirt gun full of holy water and a pocket bible..and I swear I felt my bed shake..for like a friggin' year..

now me and Satan have slumber parties and pillow fights and talk to chicks on the phone.

Like Anton said.."Satan is the best friend the church ever had".

There were a lot of devil movies during that time ...Rosemary's baby , The Exorcist , The Omen...he's scary because he's based on a biblical figure just as God is...he's very real to some people. My mother-in-law is scared to death and that is so awesome!!!! Anybody remember a bad 70's B-grade movie called "Trilogy of Terror"? One of the 3 features had Karen Black and a little voodoo devil doll thing that came to life. It was scary as hell. Of course I was about 10 years old so it may not have the same effect if I watched it again now.

"Trilogy of Terror"?

[/ QUOTE ]

Remember it well. Little doll holding a knife in his teeth. Around the same time was Night Gallery, with Roddy McDowell. He has a picture by the stairs in his house and everytime he looks at it, it showed a grave outside the house where he had killed somebody, and each time he looked at it, the picture would have a different scene, like the dirt would be thrown off the grave, then the casket door would be open next, then you could see the guy climbing out of the casket, then next would show him walking toward the door. Re: Scariest movie ever?

I was in junior high school when the Exorcist came out. It was Rated R and after I completed reading the book, my mother took me to see the film. My mother tried to act all rational and then went into all these rants about how it was "just a movie." That told me right there that it scared the schit out of her.

To this day, if I watch that movie in the den late at night, the walk from the den to the bedroom in the dark is guaranteed to raise the hairs on my neck and quicken my step.

Re: Scariest movie ever?

I did not find anything remotely scary about The Ring...I watched it once ...because of all the hype...what a disappointment that was..the only good moments in the movie reminded me of a good Marilyn Manson video...same effects taht has been beat to death ...

In Horror , I am spoiled....I hated every newer mainstream horror movie made in that last fifteen years or so...but I thought Jeeps Creepers was amusing..it was diffrent..plus that chick was pretty hot...

and I like Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp...visualy Tim Burton kicked ass in that ...as usual..

BTW I thought the Final Destination movies were alot of fun...it was good enough to hold my interest for sure..

The Ring just didn't do it...I thought is was slow and boring as hell...anyone else agree or am I alone here...it's like it feels I've must have missed something..

Final Destination 2 had the best kill ever with the air bag and broken PVC pipe...

I liked Sleepy Hollow too..

I liked the Ring and it was just the mood I think why it was so scary was it was not a typical ending... no resolution in a better way than say Halloween 3 left it with no resolution. The Ring 2 will blow

I miss the Twilight Zone...

I thought the scariest movie I ever saw was Darkness Falls.
Next would be Halloween followed by Blacula.

I highly enjoy watching all these movies with a plethora of women...they get scared so much...highly amusing. I laugh and point at them.
