Been skiing for 16 years and ski everything, As far as Black Diamond trails, just go for it, they aren't as bad as they look going up the mountain, just try to stay away from any ice if you can...as far a moguls go, Pick a line and stick to it, visualize yourself going down in that line. Another very important tip is never lean back and keep your knees bent and loose. You want your knees to absorb the shock of the mogul, This is very important and will help you keep your balance. Don't let your speed get out of control on moguls or all your friends will laugh when you fall and are bouncing from mogul to mogul. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] As far as lessons go, I took lessons for 3 yrs and they didn't do a damn thing for me except teach me the snow plow, which I'm sure your already familiar with. I learned what I know by skiing with people that were better and by my personal expiriences. Oh yeah, one other thing, Keep your chest pointed downt the mountain and in the direction you want to go, do most of your turning at the waist.

After not having skiied for 10 years (when I was really little) I joined ski team this year because my friends were on it, I needed to get outside and see some sunlight this winter, and I figured I'd like it. Well, I loved it and got a lot better really fast. GS rocks, but regular slalom sucks.
I suck at moguls though. I took lessons on winter vacation (left school early, so group lessons turned into private lessons cuz no one was there, good tip if you wanna save money) and the guy said go up a mogul and turn down it, that seemed to help a little.
