Re: Mighty Mite floyd knock-offs?
my experience with knock-off copies other than an OFR and a Schaller is that 99% of the time they are cheap metal and suck tone. I have had a couple that were cool tone wise but couldn't pass the high e string bend at the 21 st or 22nd fret, meaning you can't bend it up to the e note, dies out. That is the first test I give a trem now a days. I went through several copies and then one day said fuggit..OFR is the only way to go for me, all of mine have them with the exception of one SD Charvel I have.shawnlutz.com

I can't justify paying an extra hundred bucks just to play a note I can barely reach with my sausage fingers. I really just wanted the saddles anyway-they are going on the baseplate from a schaller single locker.

extra 100 bucks? I never paid more than 100 for a OFR on eBay
If you have thetone and don't hit that note that you should be happy with the copies...shawnlutz.com

Re: Mighty Mite floyd knock-offs?
I got my floyd copy today-the saddles fit on the schaller baseplate-no problem. As for the rest of the trem, it seems OK. Funny thing is, there is no "licensed under FR patents" on it. Are there such things as unlicensed floyd copies?
