I've been fighting the IRS for 7 years now & this thing came to a head they finally came for a visit. I met this lady who says she my case worker Translation my public defender. Between me & my Ex-wife since the tax problem was when we were still married, so far has cost us close to 10K.
From the original 1200.00 that was owed to them. I'll find out soon if I'm not going to be around for awhile very soon.

I paid into the IRS in 2001 (2K Tax Year) because of an error I made in filing (forgot a Temp Agency W-2 from earlier in 2000). Later that year when the Tax Rebate checks went out ($300 for singles, $600 for married) I got a note with my rebate check stating that I owed taxes for last year and they deducted it out of my rebate, which was about $150, so I paid twice for that year. I thought about going to a Tax Pro to have them mention it, but for the life of me have not been able ot find that letter that came with my check OR the statement that had the cancelled check to the IRS, and I been looking since 2001.

Ah well, I'll do my E-File from home again and wait for my $200 refund like I usually get. Can't wait for March when I get my bonus check from work - should be about $2500 I hope [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I just found out I owe a little over a grand. I didn't do squat this year really. I lived mainly off of my annuity payments (most of you wouldn't be able to make it two weeks on that payment...lol). I have to figure out what I am going to do.

Dude... With the IRS,you may have won the round, but you didn't win the fight. Don't know if this applys to you, but a single male making over 30k with no write offs (i.e. house, kids, etc.) sucks! (tax wise) I would invest the $1500 somehow, like buy stocks through E*TRADE. Example:Starbucks has doubled the last year and is expected to split this year. God, I sound old ......
