  • Plane Crash in NJ

PLANE CRASH in Teterboro, NJ. This is about a mile from my house. Apparently the plane never rotated and then skidded off the runway and accross the highway. Traffic here is a disaster, but I am thankful that it appears there are no deaths. At least that is what they are reporting at the moment.

Apparently, people a block away didn't even hear it happen. They just looked out their windows and saw the smoke. Teterboro is about 1/2 hour from us here up Rt. 46

My cousin's husband SAW it happen. He was on his way bringing clients of his to the airport, and was about 1/4 mile away, and saw the entire thing! Pretty freekin' scary!

[/ QUOTE ] Didn't hear a thing. Weird right? But there was no explosion from what I can see, so it was just a skidding crash into a brick wall.

[/ QUOTE ] True. I saw that on the news. Thankfully, it happened rather early. At rush hour that highway is quite crowded.

I saw that in the local news here. Apparently the plane was headed for Midway Airport here in Chicago.

No fatalities....man in the car the plane ran over is in critical cond...with several others from the plane with only minor injuries.

                      That's the latest update.

The pictures show the plane sticking out of the building with it's reversers deployed....I'm not a pilot, just a mechanic......Aren't there V Speeds you pilot guys watch?

I know, I know, wait for the NTSB report....

As far as I know (about this accident) His reverse thrusters were deployed. But as far as the speed, he was supposedly entering rotation. I think this is a case of mechanical failure, as they found absolutely no evidence of icing on the wings or tail. They have intereveiwed the pilot, but I haven't heard the outcome of that yet.

These jets have a known history of equipment, and mechanical failure.

It also picked up two cars that were in the parking lot, and dragged them into the building with it!...THAT'S fuckin' scary too!...never mind the car(s) it rolled over on the highway.
