Re: NAMM Swag #9

Oh I agree 100% with you Chuck ..albiet I do think it's a cool part of the history of the company.. Ever do something and think I should have planned it this way to make it easier?.. It's funny how the human factor pops up in production ....
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes! ~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~

Yelp that is what I have been told too..1001 was sent out as a loose plate and attached to the heinke guitar. Thus 1002 was the first 4 digit serialized guitar to leave. Sorry I should have worded my question to Pat better..and specified 4 digit plates.

As an aside it is possible to track 5 digit plates if you know which store they were shipped to. Rob W's 5 digit Explorer is like that, Tim W was able to find the paperwork from the work order info and the store info.

Order of neck plates used appears to be, brass, black then back to brass (or a period of both being used), then 5 digits (short period)then brass and finally 4 digit plates from my research anyway.

See cool trivia here in this thread, see hard questions often leads to some good discussion. FYI Charvel #1002 was on German ebay a year or two back, its a star but sadly modd'd.

Cheers

5 digit prepros while serialized are not really considered by collectors as "production serialized guitars" then again we could get slo in this arguement and his take is there are really no prepro's .

My bad I didnt read the question like this ...

What was the first serialized Charvel to leave the factory (that us collectors considered production guitars)?

Not that I was correct I just knew the first serialized to leave the factory was a five digit number and not a four.

Well, Tracy's question was actually enhanced by myself and Kevin, as I ran a few through him to make sure and that's where the trick came in at.
No reason to get bent over it.

I'm done with the questions, the rest goes to eBay...

Oh and sorry for creating this mess, we're done now.

Tracy should be off the hook, I'll assume responsibility for it.

Either way, my post, my responsibility.
