One of Paul Gilbert's favorite albums is Dillusion. I think you guys have it the other way around, you hear alot of Akira in Paul's playing................

Sometimes I think jgcable is the dik who stole all the cassettes out of my car in 1986. He always mentions the same guitarists I like, and our top tens lists are always very similar.

Your assessment of Akira is right on the money.

I was just getting back at you for stealing the 8 tracks out of my car in 1979. I knew I should have locked the doors on my 1968 Dodge Dart. At least you didn't take my underdash 8 track player with the slide mount.

I was listening to your old Sweet 8 track last night - Fox On The Run never sounded so good.

Cat Scratch Fever was still in it.
They got all my good tapes, Rocks, Toys in the Attic, Boston's first album, etc..
The cool thing about 8 tracks were how if a song didn't fit on the track they would just fade it out, switch tracks and fade it back in. Boston's Longtime was one of my favorite 8 track fades. It even sounded better in Quadrophonic stereo at home.

You're right!! I had Pieces of Eight on 8 track - if you lived in the suburbs you had no choice, it was like property tax.

"Here's your Styx tape"

"no, no thanks."

"No, you're taking the fuggin tape."

which video are you talking about?
The guitar he used in the videos in mid 80's,it is a Red ESP Star.
I was watching some old videos like "like Hell","Crazy Night", "Let It Go" 2days ago.
They were very cool.
Also love the new CDs("Hakuri" and "Racing")

Their new album Racing is incredible. The best they've released since all the originals got back together IMO. Very heavy compared to their 80's stuff. Check it out if you have the chance.

I have every Loudness cd ever made ..including the first three and Akira's "Tusk of Jaguar"....oh and the 86' double live one that kicks ass..

He looked like a Japansese Eddie back then..he had a bunch of weird hack job guitar bodies just like Ed too...like the "Hydra" by Mighty Might ...I think Eddie has one of those as well...he played ESP stuff well over 20 years ago..his main geetars were those "ML" shaped ones with that plain , stupid looking headstock..

Yes I am a fan of his playing!

The solo to "you shook me"..smokes, one of my all time favorite shreds...

He reminds me of a mix of old Gary Moore and a old Ed..he's very fast and articulate but with great feel..
