Yep, just adding my two cents here. From my interaction with some of the members of the band they didn't strike me as being nazis, they actually were very gracious and professional. Not sure about the origins of the band name but I'm almost positive the image is just designed to provoke a response or be a bit of a shock. Afterall, we know that band names are nothing but names. For example, Cannibal Corpse aren't devout supporters of zombies or eating corpses. A name is just a name.

Though that you mention it Samoth / Zamoth and Ihsahn were a part of "Zyklon-B" which was a Black metal project with Frost and one of the dudes from Thorns. Even back then, they stated something to the extent of them being "not related to any kind of political or racial preference."
