I have some concert DVDs I want to get the audio from, so I can get it on my ipod and computer. Any way to do this?

Re: getting audio from DVDs?
I need a new soundcard for a variety of reason, but that method is making annoying clicks. No the volume is not too high, I tried a bunch of stuff. There are a lot of programs at burnworld.com I just tried "BurnOn CD/DVD" but it had everything but extract the audio from a DVD. Anyone finds a nice, hopefully free, program I'll be very glad.

Re: getting audio from DVDs?
It is most definitely possible.
Thats how movies traverse the internet, video/audio ripped from dvd, compressed and merged back together as a new smaller package.
Here's the software/freeware
ahh direct links won't work
For Ripping the DVD
http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/software.htm
you want DVD Decrypter 3.5.2.0
For extracting audio
http://www.divx-digest.com/software/dvd2avi.html
you want the DVD2AVI 1.77.4 link
The guide to do all this here
It's been a long while for me, so I hope the audio that is extracted is in wav format. (~10mb/min)
You are interested in just the 2 first steps, extract dvd with decrypter and extract audio with dvd2avi
the rest of the steps are to compress the video and audio (divx/xvid/mp3), then remix together.

Re: getting audio from DVDs?
All those methods posted so far really suck.
Get a program like A1 DVD Audio Ripper and you're good to go. Amazing free program that will automatically convert the DVD audio from whatever format to whatever format. So you can rip Dolby Digital 5.1 or even DTS ES-6 tracks down to 2 track MP3 at the click of the mouse. And its fast... Great stuff.

Thanks so much. I just downloaded it. It looks like exactly what I've been looking for. First on the chopping block, "Dio: Evil or Devine"
