• USPS tracking?

In the past few weeks, I have ordered a few things off the bay, and they have been shipped by USPS. Each time I was provided with tracking numbers so i could check it on their website. AND EACH TIME THERE HAS BEEN NO INFORMATION AVAILABLE ON THE STATUS OF THE PACKAGE UNTIL AFTER IT HAS BEEN DELIVERED! Why do they even bother? Their tracking is about as useful as a poopy flavored lollipop. Rant over. Name the quote?

That's just a delivery confirmation number. USPS does not have tracking numbers available that I'm aware of. I asked about a tracking number when I sent off packages before and the postmaster said all that was available is delivery confirmation, which is really just protection for the shipper to make sure something has been delivered. I just can't understand why the USPS doesn't offer tracking numbers.

I've had the same experience with craptastic USPS. The quote's from Dodgegball...Patches O'Houlihan. Funny ass movie. "is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? No, But its sterile and I like the taste." Awesome.

It's still pretty useless. All it "confirms" is that the mailman... errr... mail woman... pffft... mailperson, left it somewhere.

As a seller on ebay, I use it on higher dollar items that i ship USPS. I have had buyers say they never got shit and i can say it was delivered. PLUS if there is a Paypal dispute, that protects me from losing my cash and the item. 99% of the people i deal with are totally cool but there is that 1% that wants something for nothing. I live by it myself.

Nice job Iommi! yeah, I actually prefer having things sent by USPS. I live at the end of a long dirt road, and there have been times when I have had things delivered by UPS or FedEx and I guess they just don't feel like driving down it (especially if there is more than 3 drops of rain or snowflakes). But then again, I have never had anything as large as a guitar in a Hard case delivered. THe mailman always drives down if the package will not fit in my mailbox. Witht he other two, I have to drive to their place to pick it up, and the Fed Ex building i s like 40 minutes away.

They have lost 3 packages on me in the past month plus they forgot to post stamp a guitar for Jani, which was processed, went to who knows where, was sent back to my home post office for post stamping, but they see I sent it through another post office, and the USPS has this policy where the office that sells the postage HAS to be the one to post stamp the package, so i get a xcall to pick it up to deliver it to the post office that I paid for postage at....bottom line, the USPS has treated me very well for the better part of 7 years but over the past month or two I have really been losing my faith. To top it all off they jacked rates up and now Priority is pretty much the same as what First Class was 4 years ago, only way more expensive.
