I read it in the Chicago Tribune today. It doesn't phase me. It won't affect the lockout/strike.

interesting....the 2 firms that want to do this are based in boston. i wonder if they plan on changing the team names if the transaction happens? i can see it now... we'll have teams named the sawx, the yankees suck, jeter sucks, a-rod sucks, the giambi juicers, gary sheffield's shoulder cream, the ball slappers, the sulking nomahhs, and many others.

Realistically this offer couldn't be taken seriously as there's no way to determine each teams worth with a lump sum offer like that!!The Bruins,Red Wings etc. are simply worth more than the Predators or Mighty Ducks(Ugghh!! I've always hated that stupid a** name!!LOL!!)!!

Actually in the Tribune article, they estimated each team and combined them. I think the actual total came to about $4.9 Bil. The Red Wings were at the top with $266 Mil and Edmonton was at the bottom with $89 Mil.
