Might be a great resource for everybody! Please, no porn... I have enough of that... and no, I'm not going to link you some porn! You don't want to know some of the crazy crap I've seen!
So, here are links and websites to make the most of your online experience.
http://www.google.com - Search engine extraordinaire. The Image Search function and Froogle (online shopping links) are equally useful.
http://www.dictionary.com - The unofficial sponsor of RacerX's posting life!
http://www.urbandictionary.com/ - Fo' shizzle, mah nizzle! What be da dilly, yo? Don't understand what I'm saying? Punch it into da UrbanDictionary fo' all yas definitions of modern English slang, yo, and not just Ebonics! Even submit yo' own words and definitions into da growin' database, yo!
http://www.snopes.com - Debunking urban legends/myths! Do guys really think about sex every 7 seconds of the day? Find out!
http://www.xe.com/ucc - International online currency converter, helpful for finding out how much that rare San Dimas Charvel is worth in Fiji Dollars, even!
http://www.rhymer.com/ - Online rhyming dictionary, great for songwriting. I've been using this for years. No, you may not see the crappy lyrics I've written thusfar.
http://www.mozilla.org/ - Mozilla Firefox is a free, rising star in the world of online web browsers. Ultra fast, ultra safe, and did I mention FREE? Tiny download size! Goes even faster if you download Firefox Patcher (see Google above to search for it) to go with it! Annihilates Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Microsoft knows this. But, you need to keep Internet Explorer on your computer for the occasional website that does not fully support Firefox.
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ - AdAware free anti-spyware program. Will clean up that virtual dickcheese in no time! Disclaimer: May or may not work on actual dickcheese.
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html - Spybot Search & Destroy free anti-spyware program. Works fantastically when coupled with AdAware. Thanks to Cleveland Metal for recommending these two! No infections since using Firefox, Ad Aware, and Spybot S&D all at once. Excellent!
http://www.photobucket.com - My personal favorite online photo/image hosting resource, as every JCFer probably knows by now. See the red text in my signature at the bottom of my post for a tutorial on picture posting and sharing! Free and paid membership options.
http://www.yousendit.com - When files are too big for e-mail or hosting on tiny little Geocities web accounts, try opening up YouSendIt in multiple web browsers, uploading your huge file in all of them, and copying the links to share with others! You will have a LOT of backup links provided, especially since each link lasts only 7 days or 25 downloads, whichever comes first. Don't tell just anybody this... I am obviously circumventing the rules and they're a great service that I'm trying to make the most out of. AWESOME for movie files or song files you need to share with others online!
http://www.imaging-resource.com/ - Everything you ever wanted to know about digital cameras, photography, scanners, software, and digital imagery. Take better pictures of those guitars and amps, people, PLEASE! Good gear deserves fantastic photos if you only spent the time to learn your hardware and software. Thanks very much to Xenophobe for this link!
http://www.mp3raid.com/ - When you don't want to use risky Kazaa to find songs, try this link. You won't always get what you want necessarily, but I strangely enough find myself checking this site regularly. Free, fast downloads, nothing to download except the MP3s themselves!
http://www.torrentspy.com/ - If you know what torrents are, you will find this link very useful. Reliable downloads of movies, music, images, software, whatever! Thanks to Dinkyjacksonman for this great link!
http://www.rpi-polymath.com/ducttape/#one - This one's just for fun. In the past three years, I've made two great custom duct tape wallets out of black duct tape after realizing that no wallet out there suited my needs for a bajillion credit card pockets AND a zippered/velcro coin pouch. Very easy to make too!
http://www.bloom4ever.com/HowToFold.htm - This is another one just for fun. I tried to score with a hot chick by making her a very fancy origami rose for Valentine's Day. The attempt failed, but the rose looked awesome and maybe you won't fail when you make it. Takes patience but the result is stunning!
http://guitar-pro.com/ - Free MIDI-based program that allows you to write guitar or other instrumentation in tablature or standard notation, and plays it back for you. Free full version if you know where to look... (hint: TorrentSpy, perhaps!)
http://mysongbook.com/ - The place to get fantastically done Guitar Pro files. Mute the guitar tracks in Guitar Pro for a jam session when practicing alone!
Okay, that's all I can think of that I use on a regular basis for now. If I think of more, I'll add them. In the meantime, add some to the growing list!!
