Re: Doesn\'t Look Good for my Step-Mother

you're right about talking to your parents jim. when my dad went down,he was in new york in the hospital, and douchebag charvel guy (me) was out on a bender for 3 or 4 days and i came home to 82 messages on my answering machine from my family saying where the fukk are you , dad's dying , get the fukk back here. the doctors could not believe that he was still alive, and my mom told the doctors that he was waiting for me, as i am the youngest of the eight children, and was his favorite. thankfully, i got on the next flight , made it back in time to take a cab straight to the hospital and get a good two hours alone with him , and i told him that he was a perfect father and how i wish i had acquired some of his greatness, and basically just how much i loved him and how he was always there for me no matter what trouble i had gotten into. and he was. he passed away about 2 hours after i left the hospital to go home and unpack and shower. he held on all those days in pain with no medication, he refused, just to say good bye to me. you are right TETS when you say talk to your parents, as much as possible. if i did not make it in time because of partying and did not get to tell him everything, it would be haunting me to this minute because of my selfishness at the time. hang in there jim.

I am hangin no worries there sadly I almost welcome this because my step mom post stroke well has been as Bob Dylan says knockin.... anyway I am not too worried esxcept for the fact that my sister just called me and told me that perfectly healthy men have heartattacks watching their wives die at age 80 and that could be my old man... I am flying out to AZ thursday night to be with my pops and I am going to make it a thing I do every other month from now on.. Seriously thanks for all the support

Hey Dude, I'm sorry that she hasn't been well...and now worse..this is very sad indeed.

Be with your dad..I just had a great conversation with mine...laughing , talking about old stuff..

I would always want to have my last memories of him..just like that.

He's was and is always there for me... I cherish him.

                    Take Care Tetsuo..

Re: Doesn\'t Look Good for my Step-Mother

Thanks Bill... She didn't make it through the night she passed away @ 11 MST about 20 minutes before my Step Bro who hates flying (last time was 1969) got to the hospital. My father was staying with a friend who lives close to the hopital and actually at this moment doesn't know yet but will shortly...

Sorry to hear that Tets. God Bless y'all, and Step-Mom as well.
Be thankful she's not suffering, and remind your Dad that although we always want to hang onto them for just a little longer, we have to let go and be thankful for the time we did have with them, no matter how short it was or seemed to be.

I am so sorry - you and all your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Just be there for each other - that's the most we can do. Know we are all here for you too. Just remember she's looking down on all of you from a better place.
