Re: Best floor exercises to build body strength?

Before bed, 3 sets of 60 pushups and 3 sets of 60 sit ups. Alternate, Push up, sit up, push up, sit up.

On a night where the misses is feeling up to it, I get that little extra cardio.

I used to lift wieghts, but I don't have the time to go to the gym, and I've just never gotten around to buying a full weight set or bench. I do have 45lb wieghts that I do curls with a couple times a week.

What everyone is saying about the six pack abs is true, you lose the gut fat, you show the six pack. When I was in school I ate junk food all the time, but I had like no fat on me because I walked everywhere, and I used to swim laps everyday. The Y was a few miles from my house, so after walking to the Y, swimming a few hours, I'd jog home.

If you want those deep cuts in your abs, you've got to do more than lose the fat, but it's a start to lose it. Right now I've got a few cuts in my abs, that I can see through the winter layer of fat I put on...in 02 and never completely lost.

Not before bed. That works you up and you can't relax enough to sleep, normally. The latest time to exercise is early evening, which should give you enough time to wind down before sleeping.

I do do stretches before I go to bed, just to loosen up my shoulders, sides, and especially my back. Feels great.

You guys are right about the abs thing. Really, I should have made my topic title, "Best floor exercises to build a sculpted body". It is a fact that most people do have rather strong stomach muscles already, but they don't know it because it's usually hidden behind a wall of fat. It's just that if I lose weight to gain sculpted abs, I will put myself in the underweight zone. Last summer, I was properly measured at 5'10" height and 150lbs weight, and was considered smack in the middle of the healthy zone for a guy my height. I have a slightly protruding belly and now-flimsy muscles. Four summers ago, I was measured at 5'10" and 138lbs, which is considered to be slightly underweight, although I had better muscle tone and was a hell of a lot more active than I am now.

Strange.

I don't need to lose THAT much weight Atommy... just a little around my stomach, and building more muscle in my upper and lower body... but thanks for the brilliant Nutra-Jail offer. If I were rich, I'd fund you. Perhaps you need a Sugar Mama to sponsor you.

I can't believe I'm actually falling into vanity here. But even if I did build a sexier body, I'm rarely ever in clothes that would show it off. I'm almost ALWAYS wearing my fleece-and-shell heavy winter jacket on top of two layers of clothes, even indoors! People think I'm insane, but I tell them I'm cold-blooded! So I'm not necessarily trying to score shallow chicks here by getting a ripped body.

The Sugar Mama is the means to world domination I say. If I were a he-whore, I'd be ruling the planet.

Thats my plan, become a he-whore. Gotta get my 6 pak abs visible first. then he-whoring will be an option. Havent decided if I am going for hot chicks with little money, or not so hot older women with LOTS of money....

he-whore.....yea, I like it.

You can't really build much strength without weights.. you'll hit your peak pretty fast and won't progress much after that. You'll eventually need the resistance and intensity.

lift weights? i'd rather stick needles in my eyes. i like playing sports as opposed to lifting weights. it's a headache.

Scissors... well... it's not for the flexibly-challenged.
Um... how can I put this in a classy way?

Imagine you both are scissors, the legs representing the scissor blades. If you were to put two scissors together and connect between the blades, how would you do that?
Yeah... that's how.
For an added work-out bonus, hold hands while playing scissors so that you have to use each other for balance.

YES!! Only ppl that don't use weights or light weights are the fitness bunch, you'll never see a bodybuilder NOT using weights.
Without weights you'll only get some muscle tone that compared to 'normal' ppl look good, but when you step in a gym you'll be the smallest of small
