I know I ramble, but I've been following this series for a long, long time now, and have had to literally wait for years between new releases. I wasn't a fan of the author, hadn't even read a Stephen King novel until one day I found myself buying The Gunslinger. So it's kind of a big thing for me to get to the last book in the series at last.

    so now it's over.

I feel a bit funny. I've known these characters for as long as I've known my wife. It almost seems that every book I've read for the last 15 years (and there have a LOT of them!) has been to kill time while I wait for the next in the Dark Tower series. And now it's done.

    hmmmm.......

    I might..........

have to start again at the beginning.....again

I have read a few of Easton's books (rules of attraction, american psycho, less than zero). I like reading books about war. I went through a spell and probablt read about six books on Vietnam. I also like books on crime, Helter Skelter, Say You Love Satan are good reads. The there are the classics Steinbeck, Fitzgerald, and Dickens. I also really love SE Hinton's stuff.

            Homer's Odyssey

I've been hearing about this book for years, it was cheap, I thought I'd see what the fuss was about.

I read the Odyssey about two years ago, it took me a while to get through it. I have the Iliad, but I've been avoiding reading it for that same reason.

Yeah yeah, I know, I should have read the Iliad first and then the Odyssey, but I found the Odyssey in the bookstore first.

I read Star Wars Revenge of the Sith earlier this summer. The book was awesome. It handled Anakin's fall into the darkside way better than the movie did.

I've read tons of Dragonlance books.

Actually, that's next for me too.

How sad is it that I'm actually still reading the Meyer Lansky book...

Letters from Earth is a good read. I won't claim to understand satanism but if part of it is recognizing human carnal desires without condemnation then there are some really funny passages in LFE along those lines. It's hard to go wrong with Twain.
