Cruel April Fool's Gag

As many of you already know, I teach Earth & Space science at the high school level. Our principal came on the intercom to announce the following: "Attention Juniors and Seniors for a very important announcement...due to a lack of expected ticket sales for this year's Prom the restaurant and dance hall is unable to honor their committment to us as site sponsor. Therefore, this year's Prom IS CANCELLED. Tickets are non refundable."

And he let it sink in for a few moments before saying, "And what day is today kids? That's right, it's April Fool's Day! Just joking. Prom will be as scheduled, all tickets have been sold and paid in full. (Teachers, please pardon this important interruption)"

You could hear a collective sigh of relief after that. But the students were devestated and even I was wondering if this had ever happened before.

LOL - Well not quite that drastic but our school nazis made the band stop playing at my junior prom after only two songs ... right after they finished "Cocaine."

In today's twisted world the principal and school district will be sued by a parent of an emotionaly distressed student with the help of the ACLU. The princial will in turn agree to a settlement and leave quietly.

Teachers are fucking students no a days, would I be suprised by this? Hell no.

However, I did take it seriously when i read that Queensryche isn't doing mind crime 2, then read it was an April Fools gag.
