I wouldnt download any "free" anti spyware...I used to use it untill I found Panda platimnum. I paid alot for it but it completely wiped out all spyware.trojan horses,hi jacks etc. Those "free" ones have spyware that Panda found and eliminated. I even tried Norton and Panda found a few hijacks that Norton didnt. Its actually the software that Staples uses in all there coprorate computers..
I use Spybot and Adaware as old standbys, and they do a great job. I have recently gotten the new microsoft free beta antispyware (formerly Giant Antyspyware) and it found a crap load of stuff the others did not.
Panda used to have a free scan on their site, doesn't look like it is still there. If you do not have a firewall, I like Zone Alarm. Simple, self explanatory and the best words in the bunch: effective & free. http://www.zonelabs.com/store/conten...eeDownload.jsp
