And he goes around and prays for huge masses of people..and other such things.

So why is it OK to bash the worldwide leader of Catholics and the religion itself here? If some of the comments in this thread were being made about jews, blacks, muslims, or even your freakin' Aunt Josephine with the gimpy leg, an awful lot of people would come out of the woodwork to slam 'ya for it. Don't get me wrong, I'm the first one to have a sense of humor about myself and - yes - my own religion. Like many Americans, I disagree with some of the Church's own teachings. And, no, I must admit that I'm not exactly thrilled about the choice.

Some of the s**t being said here seems to be going quite beyond even normal raunchy jest/humor. Flat out disrespect or contempt, even. Sad.

Me, too! [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] You'd think the catholic church would just let priests get married. After all, their whole religion is based on sex and reproducing, so why can't priests? [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img] It'd cut down on the molestation pretty quick, I'd think, for the most part.
