Re: drum-machines
I would recommend Percussion Studio. It's shareware, but it's not crippled in any way.
I recommend it for two reasons:
1. You can use ANY .wav file as a drumbeat.
2. You can put a beat exactly where you want it. Most of the ones I tried had to conform to 4/4 time, 3/4 time, etc.
Here's a quick file I made with it.
Right-click and Save As....
